Bondevia in Bangkok

May 31st, 2007 by Jonathan

Happy Vesak Day!

Finally I’m done with the productions for Bondevia Show 3: Bangkok

It was a blasting 4 days with 2 of my crew mates and 3 other good friends of mine. Just to provide you with a little extra information before the show.

We booked our trip through a travel agent, but we went there free-and-easy.

Travel Agent: NemoTravel
Contact number: 63965181
Website: www.nemotravel.com.sg
Price for entire trip: SGD366 (Inclusive of accommodation)
Duration: 4 Days 3 Nights
Hotel: Asia Hotel (Located at Ratchathewi BTS SkyTrain station)
Hotel Ratings: 3 to 4 Stars
Bondevia’s Rating: Brilliant!!!

Enjoy the show! :)

Part 1

Part 2

Places to visit in Bangkok:

  1. Chatuchak Weekend Market (Mo Chit BTS Station)
  2. Suan Lum Night Bazaar (Lumphini Train Station)
  3. MBK Center (Siam Train Interchange)
  4. Siam Paragon (Siam Train Interchange)
  5. Central World (Chit Lom BTS Station)
  6. Pratunam Area (Chit Lom BTS Station)

All the modern malls there are really huge (think 1.5 times the size of Vivo City). Personally I feel that it is possible to just stay in one Mall (especially Siam Paragon) for the entire day without getting bored. There’s a Cineplex, IMAX theatre, Siam Ocean World, Bowling Alley, Shopping Area, Food Level and a 4D Show Theatre. Enough to keep you occupied for the entire day. If that’s not enough there’s also a Royal Paragon Convention Hall to hold exhibitions and trade shows. Siam Paragon, the epitome of Bangkok Shopping, feeling the Singapore vibe smack in the middle of Bangkok.

Travel Tips:

  1. Never let a Tuks Tuks driver overcharge you. Always quote the lowest price possible and when I say lowest, I really mean DAMN low.
  2. Take a Taxi and be sure to ask him to turn on the meter.
  3. Prices of goods sold in the flea markets are always inflated for tourist. Be sure to look out for signs of pricing every now and then and try to slash every thing by half. Really, they sell the stuff to local Thais cheaper.
  4. Take care of your belongings. Try to keep your bags in front of you.
  5. Be firm to reject Taxi drivers who offer you a ride to Jewel Factories or any other location that you don’t intend to visit. Say no with a really LOW AND STERN voice, telling him that you are the devil and you’d ensure his brutal death or you can simply call the Thai Tourist Police at 1155.
  6. Speaking simple Thai would aide you further in getting a discount.
    Discount: Lod Noy
    Expensive : Pang
    Greeting: SawadiKup (Males), Swadikaa (Females)
Thank You: KapunKup (Males), KapunKaa (Females)
    Omkai: Blow Job
    NianTat: Fuck
    No: Miao
  7. Go for the Freaking Thai Massage, you wouldn’t regret :)
  8. The Thai Girls show (Woman playing with their private parts) is really an eye opener. Do not pay more than 300 Baht for it and try not to order any drinks other than the complimentary drinks given at the beginning of the show.

Now you’re officially Bangkok-Ready.

Please leave your comments after the entry ok? Thank you!

Movie Review: Pirates of the Caribbean

May 24th, 2007 by Jonathan

AT WORLD’S END

At World's End4.5 outta 5 Popcorns

Welcome to Singapore, literally. Thanks for over publicizing our country and making it look like a super chinese island.

But the show’s really funny, mainly focusing on finding Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and bringing him back to life. And uniting all the Pirates of the world to fight against the colony driven East India Trading Company which so happened to be the same company as Sir Stamford Raffles, thus explaining why Singapore was mentioned so many times in all 3 series.

Keith Richards (Rolling Stones) stars in the sequel as the father of Jack Sparrow. And you’ll actually get a 5 seconds glimpse of Davy Jones’s (Billy Nighy) face in one scene. Lots of twist in this movie, but still I think it’s really funny.

The only reason why I didn’t give this movie a full 5 popcorns is because I didn’t like the fact that Tia Dalma (the ugly witch) turned into a giant before morphing into a thousand stone crabs. Other then that Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) is still as hot, no matter how dirty she looks and Sao Feng (Chow Yun Fatt) was really really intimidating.

And don’t say I didn’t warn you. For those of you catching this movie, be sure to remain in your seats even when the credits are rolling. It’ll roll for probably 5 mins (trust me, we waited like shit) before you’ll see extra footage. I won’t tell you what, neither will I say if it’s worthwhile. Just wait for the credits to end and you’ll know :)

Presenting: The Crazy Girls

May 14th, 2007 by Jonathan

You have nothing to do, and you decided to chat with some long lost friends and suddenly they suggested to meet up. You play a few games and suddenly you go crazy. Sounds like something you read from a teenage novel? Nope, it’s real and it happened. Three long lost friends and a crazy night of doing forfeits :)

No, they’re actually not crazy. Really, they’re just acting :)

Christopher Lee gets 1 month Jail.

May 11th, 2007 by Jonathan

Christopher's Message to the publicslapped with a 4.5k fine for drink driving and banned from driving for 3 years. But he is appealing against the jail term and is currently out on a S$20,000 bail. Christopher Lee a Singaporean artiste was involved in a hit and run accident last October 2006, when he apparently didn’t stop after hitting a motorcyclist and his pillion to see if they needed help in Little India.

Let’s put this to perspective. You are the boyfriend of the ever-so-famous Queen of Caldecott, Fann Wong. You have quite and extensive fan base in Singapore and Malaysia because of the shows you star in and your pretty face. I can perfectly understand why someone like Christopher Lee would want to appeal against the jail term. Firstly there’s no super star treatment in Singapore, every convict is treated equally. And he would most probably be bullied in jail. Better be careful when you bathe and you drop your soap dude.

I mean when YOUR mind is clouded by alcohol, you accidentally hit someone on the road and you think you’re super popular, it’s only natural to feel scared. Lee then drove away without stopping to help the casualties. That is probably the result of fear, stupidity and a few pints of beer and need I mention selfishness.

I’m very curious (and I am hoping someone could verify this for me) what is the minimum sentence for a hit and run case even if it’s non-fatal. 1 month jail for a hit and run accident, sound pretty lenient to me.

What’s going on in the world of celebrities? Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail because she drove when her license was banned. Banned because she was driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol. Benedict Goh, (another Singaporean celebrity) remembered as The Pyramid Game show host was charged with DUI recently too. He faces 4 charges under 2 separate incidents!

Drink Driving is the new pink for celebrities!

Typo errors are jsut part and parcel of blogging :)
